Minutes to Decimal Hours Chart

Decimal hours show time as a number rather than hours and minutes. Convert minutes by dividing them by 60, then add the result to the number of whole hours.

Formula

Decimal hours = whole hours + (minutes ÷ 60)

For example, 7 hours 45 minutes = 7 + (45 ÷ 60) = 7.75 hours.

Convert decimal hours back to minutes

Take the decimal portion and multiply it by 60. For example, 6.25 hours means 6 whole hours plus 0.25 × 60 = 15 minutes, so it equals 6 hours 15 minutes.
